The employment of slate used to be pretty much straightforward: roofing materials, dry- walls, chalk- boards and pool tables. Some was also used on floors, but it always represented cleaning issues in such applications unless it was just left alone. True slate should be black or dark grey. It should be very hard and virtually liquid-proof.
